A lex has a positive engagement at all levels of Omega Care Group’s work, and actively shapes the ethos and working practices of the organisation. His values are rooted in his personal experience as a care leaver, and in his many years of work with young people in a wide range of social care settings.
This experience includes working within children’s homes, community youth projects and secure environments. Before setting up Omega Care Group, Alex was the Director of a successful, innovative company delivering effective, young person centred, semi-independent living provision and specialised support services for a number of years.
The Omega Team - At Omega Care Group, we recognise our staff team as our greatest asset and value its collective ability to promote positive and meaningful working relationships with the young people engaged with the organisation’s services. We have developed a dynamic, diverse, highly skilled and committed workforce possessing a raft of qualities, knowledge and experience. This includes counselling, mediation and training skills, and experience of work with substance/alcohol users, individuals who self-harm, young people with disabilities and young people with mental health issues.
All staff in Children’s residential complete training in adverse childhood experiences to support a trauma informed approach. Staff also receive training in RPI, facilitation/de-escalation, partnership working etc, within their wider developmental training package
All face to face staff are qualified or working towards NVQ 3 in Health and Social care (or equivalent), and are led by managers who are undertaking Level 5 Diplomas.
External qualifications are supported by a comprehensive in-house training programme and a robust Quality Assurance system. At Omega Care Group we operate a team based approach, promoting innovation and input from staff at all levels. This is supported through an emphasis on reflective practice and ongoing personal development.
We make extensive use of our innovative Independent living programme-we operate dedicated versions for care leavers and for Children’s Residential services. The ILP is of particular relevance to care leavers, equipping them with the skills, knowledge base and awareness necessary to support the transition to independence.
